Windows Server 2019 Essentials perfectly suits the needs of a small infrastructure, designed for organizations of different sizes, and with different virtualization and datacenter requirements.

This edition is designed for small companies with up to 25 users and 50 devices. Just like its predecessor, Windows Server 2016 Essentials, the 2019 edition allows for integration with Azure Site Recovery services. This feature is meant to help you maintain business continuity in the event of a hardware or other failure, when your virtual machine (VM) or its host goes down.

This functionality enables you to replicate the VMs in real-time mode to a backup repository in Azure. If a disaster strikes, you can failover to the replica and resume your business-critical operations.

The 2019 Essentials edition also makes it possible to integrate with Azure Virtual network. Moving an organization’s resources to the cloud can be a complicated issue. The right way is to allow enough time for this process and perform it step by step. Windows Server 2019 Essentials, in turn, makes the resources and processes that are running in Azure look as if they are located on your local network. This allows organizations to seamlessly move their resources to the cloud.

Windows Server 2016 Essentials was previously referred to as a Small Business Server, revealing its main purpose – serving small businesses. Windows Server 2016 Essentials is ideal for small businesses running low production workloads as this edition can serve only up to 25 users and 50 devices. It can be deployed as a first server (for inexperienced users) or a primary server (for building a multi-server environment to be used by SMBs). Windows Server 2016 Essentials delivers a set of advanced features and capabilities to small businesses for a reasonable price, allowing them to achieve more productivity and efficiency. When talking about Windows Server 2016 Essentials, it is worth mentioning that no CAL is required, meaning that you don’t have to worry about complex licensing requirements and the high costs that CAL entails.

Features:

Trust your workloads to an enterprise-class hypervisor. You can be confident
your workloads will perform on Hyper-V, which Microsoft uses to run hyperscale
data centers around the globe. When needed, you also can easily migrate
a Hyper-V workload from on-premises to a Windows Server VM in Azure.
Upgrade efficiently. Upgrade infrastructure clusters to Windows Server 2016
with zero downtime for your Hyper-V or Scale-out file server workloads, and
without requiring new hardware, using Mixed OS Mode cluster upgrades.
Enhance network security. Dynamically segment your network based on
workload needs using a distributed firewall and network security groups to
apply rich policies within and across segments. Layer enforcement by routing
traffic to virtualized firewall appliances for even greater levels of security.
Build cloud-native and hybrid apps. Create new microservices applications
using fewer and compressed resources, and more agile “just enough”
technologies. Use containers to build, test and deploy the apps to any cloud,
including Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure. Get ready faster using the
lightweight Nano Server installation option, which delivers Windows Server
2016 as a quick-start, practical platform optimised for building next-generation
applications with containers or micro-services.
And much more!

System Requirements:

CPU: Intel Xeon E5-1650
Memory: 512MB
Free Disk Space: 32GB or more
OS Drive: 480GB SSD RAID 1 or better
Processor: 1.4GHZ 64-bit
Optical Drive: DVD-ROM Drive
